An add-on.

One inappropriate to the update, so I'm posting it separately.

He stood at the edge of the field, pan in his hand. Dinner was over, so the grease needed to be poured out. What was once a searing hot liquid now stood cold and congealing on the ground near his feet.

The light from the carport nearly reached him as he stared into the darkness that surrounded him. He could see the light edging towards the field, reaching out to him whenever he cared to look over his shoulder. Home was that way.

He took a deep breath and sighed. Standing there, the chill of the night lightly played a finger on his back. It made him shiver. The young man shut his eyes and slowly began to shut the rest of himself. His ears, his nose, no sound, no smells--even his touch numbed as the night met the temperature of the ice ball in stomach. Soul, he called it.

Then the darkness touched his foot and began to crawl up his leg and reached his chest. It lighted on his arms and the top of his head, spreading down into his ears, into his nose and mouth. It reached inside him and made him nothing until the night chill ran another finger down his back. He shivered again and opened his eyes. Then, turning towards the light, he regained his grip on the pan and left the cold grease on the field in the dark, and headed towards his home near the light.

An update.

3 weeks of camp left. 2 of them will be spent with the little ones. The last week will be very empty.

3 weeks until I am unemployed. I'm looking for a job. And references.

We interrupt this Parkour Jam for an important announcement.

My throat and ears are influencing my health very much in the "I don't feel well" direction. It's a big pain to swallow and the pressure behind my ears is a wheedling sort of thing that I don't want to deal with. So until I get better, I'm planning on postponing my parkour sessions. I'll let you all know when I pick them back up again.

The Traceur in me wants to play.

Starting Next week on Monday, I will be at Mercer's campus every night between 8 and 8:30 to do a parkour run until 9 or 9:30. If it rains, I won't be there. Parkour in the rain is a mite dangerous. As of right now, I'm pretty determined to do this. I will probably begin my runs in that courtyard behind the UC, so if you're interested, meet me there. If you're new, I'll teach you. If you're better at it, then you teach me. It'll be good. :) I don't know how long I'll do this, and I'll probably take one or two weekends off if I have a place I got to be during most of the weekends. But I'm definitely doing this. It'll be fun.

The Juggernaut

It kind of reminds me of those inspiriational posters you see in workplaces or like the ones on despair.com. I love it.

Warriors, Fighters, Samurai, Knights, Ninjas, and Monks.

I like to think of myself as a fighter. Not really disciplined or regimented like a soldier, but someone who does combat, of whatever the sort. Be it intellectual, physical, or emotional, somehow I tend to think that I am only at my best when I have an opponent. That I only really have purpose when I'm at odds with an individual.

But the more I think about it, the more I'm probably not a fighter at all. I think I'm mostly someone who is non-confrontational who lacks the courage to truly face people and my problems. Obviously this is bad, but what do I do? Am I really the warrior I've always thought of myself as being, or am I something else and I just need to figure that out too? It's not too important I reckon. I figure I'm probably a little of both, which makes me about average at it.

And soon, I think I shall battle for sleep.
