Update.

The job hunt is going pretty well. Churches are actually contacting me for interviews. So far today I've had 3.

One guy can't spell.

One guy uses internet slang.

One guy is in North Carolina.

I'm most tempted to go with NC.

My "bill paying job" sucks. I stayed late a half an hour trying to fix something I didn't know was broken. I hate handling other people's money.

In the mean time, I'm building up some steam to get started on the next set of events in my book. I'm also really really looking forward to Christmas.

Huh?

I'm either very close or very far away.

I can't tell.

I'll keep you posted.

I need a job.

The hard part about finding a job in my field is that there is no way to accurately dig up job opportunities. There are no church or Christian oriented job openings posted on Monster or the ajc website. Some churches don't even tell their own congregations when they're in the market for a new minister.

What am I supposed to do? It's hard enough finding jobs. How much harder is it going to be for a job to find me?

I do not have an existentialist crisis on my hands.

I do not need personal time to find out who I am and what my purpose in life is.

I need to teach kids about Christianity. I drove halfway across the state and got shot down because I feel compelled to do it.

I need to improve Christian education programs because they all suck.

I need to at least try to transform flighty, bubble-headed children into steady, well-rounded adults.

I am trying to find a job where I can make a career out of doing what I want.

I am not confused. I am not upset. I just want to be clear.

So I'll be going without underwear a lot more in the future.

I was let go from my job today. After nearly 6 months with AANT Termite and Pest Control, my services are no longer needed.

AANT Termite and Pest Control is a great company to work for. The boss is amazing, the work is not overbearing, and the prices and services the company offers are nothing short of amazing. But finances are tight. I'm the least trained individual on the payroll, so I got let go.

Pray for that company. The man who runs it keeps his wife and three kids afloat by exterminating insects and handling animals that most people would never dream of being close to. They deserve to do well.

In the mean time, I'm free.
